Nanome v2.1.0 Release Update: New Workspace API, Interactions, Alignment, Ligands Table, and more!

April 29, 2025

We are excited to announce the release of Nanome AI v2.1.0. This release brings a host of improvements and new features designed to streamline workflows between NanomeAI’s companion web portal, display interactions between molecular structures, and an enhanced experience for ligand evaluation.

Consolidated Workspace API:

Our redesigned API consolidates access to the database for both XR and MARA. This integration ensures consistent data access across the web and XR interfaces such that further workspace preparation or real-time changes can happen on the web before or during an XR session.

Multi-Structure Interactions:

Experience seamless interactions with the introduction of Cross-entry components that enable cross-entry interactions, along with new features such as Protein Alignment and a dedicated Ligands Menu. These additions are engineered to make protein exploration more intuitive and effective. We’ve smoothed out processes for protein grabbing, rotating, and scaling while also implementing several smaller UX improvements.

Protein Alignment:

Experience protein alignment like never before. In our immersive VR environment, aligning proteins is as intuitive as manipulating physical objects—simply grasp, rotate, and position with natural 3D gestures or leverage our integration with the CEAlign algorithm as shown in the video below.

Ligands Table Menu:

Explore our new Ligand Table menu in XR which lets you effortlessly view and rate ligands while accessing detailed, RDKit-calculated properties—all within an immersive 3D environment. It's designed to make the evaluation and comparison of potential compounds both intuitive and engaging.

Other Improvements:

Additional updates include faded avatars and cursors for users in different scenes, an automatic workspace load when clicking “Join” on an organization member list item (for users with existing access), and an increased minimum scene scale to avoid unreasonably small protein displays. A floating prompt now shows which user you are currently following, adding clarity during collaborative sessions.

We've also improved the XR platform to work more smoothly so there's less lag or delays when switching between views, scenes, or representations. Changes made in either XR or the web portal are now instantly shared with everyone, keeping everyone perfectly in sync. We’ve polished the app to ensure smoother logins and better workspace permission handling. Working together with other members of your organizations is easier than ever. You can join your team's workspace easily ensuring that collaborative sessions get kicked off more seamlessly.

We invite you to experience these updates firsthand. Provide your details here to gain early access and discover the future of collaborative protein visualization and interaction.
